Strawberry Picking in Tokyo
You do not need to drive far outside Tokyo to enjoy authentic strawberry picking. You can still have a high-quality and delicious experience within the city.
In fact, strawberry picking farms are spread across Tokyo in areas such as Setagaya, Nerima, Hachioji, Machida, and Fuchu. Many use elevated cultivation inside vinyl greenhouses, so your feet stay cleaner and both young children and older visitors can enjoy the experience comfortably.
There are three main points to check when choosing a farm in Tokyo: 1) station access, 2) how reservations work, and 3) support facilities such as rest areas, luggage storage, and toilets. Checking these in advance helps prevent day-of surprises.

Season
When is the best time to visit? (Season guide)
The strawberry picking season generally runs from early January to late May. You can enjoy it not only in midwinter, when the berries are sweetest, but also into spring when the weather is milder and outings are easier.
January and February have the highest sugar content and are ideal if you want to savor rich sweetness. March and April bring milder weather that suits family trips and date outings, while May offers a lighter, slightly tangy flavor near the end of the season.
🕐 Best time of day
Early morning sessions are the best choice. Strawberries are freshest in the morning and more fully ripened berries remain, while afternoons tend to have more already-picked areas. If possible, aim for a time slot soon after opening.
📅 Weekdays vs weekends
Farms tend to be busier on weekends and public holidays. If you want a more relaxed visit, weekdays are your best bet. Families with children may also want to plan around substitute holidays or school days off.
👗 Clothing and packing tips
The greenhouse is warm, so layered clothing that is easy to put on and take off works well. Strawberry juice may splash, so darker clothes or an apron can help. Wet wipes are also useful.
Once you know the season, best time, and what to bring, all that is left is choosing your date.
We publish real-time availability, so please check whenever it suits you.

Price guide
In Tokyo, the typical price for 30 minutes of all-you-can-eat strawberry picking is around 3,000 to 4,000 yen per adult. It may seem slightly higher than in Chiba or Saitama, but once you include travel costs and time, staying in Tokyo can often be the better value.
Many farms offer discounted prices for elementary school children and preschoolers. Policies vary by farm, such as free entry for children under two or half-price rates for children aged three to preschool age, so families should check in advance.
Some farms also change prices between the first half of the season (January to February) and the latter half (April to May). Peak season can cost a bit more, but the sweetness is exceptional, while the later season is often more affordable and easier to enjoy casually.
